"A Sweet Dreamer" Shabby Chic Napkin Fold Card

Hi everyone! Today I have a fun and pretty card to share with you. I made it to go with the shabby chic tag I showed you in my previous post. Together they look like this.


The card is a napkin fold card. (I followed a tutorial on Dawn5377's youtube channel.) For this kind of card, you need to make a belly band to keep the card closed. I decorated the band but not on the card so the embellishments won't get in the way when you slip the band in and out.

If you like, you can punch top and bottom edges of the paper strip so you will have a pretty paper band. Here,I also used washi tape to dress up the entire strip of paper.

On the front, I die cut white card stock using "Floral Ovals" Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies. I glimmer misted both pieces to give it some colors and sparkly shine; layered them on top of each other and added the lovely vintage child image to the center. Then, I embellished around the image with platinum stickles, pearl trim and flowers.

Also, I handmade this flower from the same fabric I used on my tag and used a sweet blue button for the center. I dyed my seam binding with glimmer mist spray and wrinkled it with my heat tool.

Inside, I kept it pretty simple. I just alternated two different patterns of paper so I get a patchwork look. I embossed the pale blue pieces and white washed the edges with white acrylic paint.

I cut out eyelet flowers and a swirl using Magnolia Doohickeys Dies and punched different sizes of hydrangeas using Martha Stewart punches to decorate the inside of my card. The tag can be taken out and slip back in.

This is the second time I made a napkin fold card. I really like this kind of fun and interactive card. I will definitely make more in the near future. I hope you guys try it! Let me know what you think about my card. And THANK YOU for stopping by ^__^
