"Keep True to Childhood Dreams" Romantic Shabby Chic Mini Album

Hi everyone! This is the first blog post I've written in a long while. I'm pretty nervous and excited at the same time. And this time, I told myself I would keep my blog alive! (Finger crossed...LOL) Well...long story short...I pretty much love crafts of all kinds but my passions are paper crafts and yarn works. So, mainly, I will share with you my paper projects and once in a while I might blog about things I crochet and knit.

For a start, I want to share with you my latest paper project. It's a mini album I created with one of my favorite paper collections, C'est La Vie, from Melissa Frances. I used the paper, die cuts and tags from this line. The soft pastel tones make it so easy to achieve the shabby chic look. I totally am in love with the outcome. I didn't actually plan to make the album; I was just playing around with my small, inexpensive sewing machine; and ended up with these pretty pages! Making this mini was so much fun because it was the first time I machine-stitched on paper and laces! (I was REAL excited when they stuck together! Call me silly but I truly was! LOL ^O^)

So...this is how my mini album looks like!

For the front and back covers, I stitched big piece of lace with the paper to make it sturdy. Then, I kept adding other laces and trims to fluff it up, to make it more feminine.

The pages inside are made from patterned paper, paper doilies and some laces that I stitched together.

Then, I either glued on or stitched in darling vintage child images that I printed out; added sweet poems and quotes I like to fill the pages.

You can easily dress up the edge of the paper with Martha Stewart punches.

For the last two pages I wrote down this wonderful poem of Lewis Carroll - "Life is but a dream"

Little tags and die cuts from the paper collection are pretty add ons.

A bit of journaling or stamping makes them look complete.

I also used Martha Stewart mold to make this pretty clay cabochon; painted and put tons of glitter on it.

I made some holes in the center and bound pages with lacy ribbons.

I really am happy with this mini album. With all the laces and embellishments, it looks so girly...so shabby chic. I can't wait to try making some for my lovely friends.

Let me know what you think. And THANK YOU so much for visiting my blog ^__^

HAVE A HAPPY SCRAPPY DAY!
