Graphic 45 "French Country" Waterfall Mini Album

Hi everyone, I want to share with you a mini album I made yesterday! I LOVE the fun effect of a waterfall card (a kind of card when you pull a tab, a panel flips to reveal a panel underneath). So, it's even better and more beautiful when you make a bigger version and turn it into a mini album or a flip book!

For this flip book, I used gorgeous "French Country" papers from Graphic 45. I love the deep, rich and vibrant colors of this collection! It was fun to create different scenes with fussy cut images. Here is how my flip album looks like...

The front and back covers are made from thin kraft cardboard. I always use dimensional embellishments so I created a half inch spine for this mini album. I covered the spine with black floral washi tape. I've come to like to use washi tape as binding tape because of its thin and stretchy texture; it doesn't tear or crack like paper. I dyed my seam binding with black glimmer mist; then threaded it through the paper and made a little bow at the bottom. The zipper pull is from Prima Marketing.

I layered different fussy cut images on the background. I used diamond stencil from my friend, SaCrafters and Black Soot Distress Ink to create that wonderful diamond pattern. I also fussy cut the sunflowers, added diamond stickles for some sparks; then, popped it up with dimensional adhesives.

I used chipboard pieces from the collection. On this one, I coated it with Distress Crackle Paint (Clear Rock Candy), let it dry and crack, and scraped some off with my finger to get this flaky look. I, then, distressed it with black soot distress ink.

I used a metal ring, chains and a hook to make a quick closer for the album!

Inside, I built waterfall panels on the right. On the left, I created countryside scene from fussy cut images. I added glossy accents on the rooster and postage stamps for added dimension.

I die cut some flowers out using Tattered Floral die and used McGill's stylus to create 3 dimensional flowers.

The waterfall part is really fun! I made each panel different sizes and designs. The first panel is the biggest! I die cut the edge with "Distressed Doily" on the edge die; coated the lacy area with Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint so it wouldn't rip.

I, then, created a front pocket with a fussy cut out tag. I glued these cute die cuts from the collection to the sticks so they look like signposts. I also cut out a journaling tag and tucked it in the pocket.

Added another dimensional flower on the pocket.

The second panel is very simple. I just popped the tag on dimensional.

For this one, I used envelope die cut to make an envelope with a tag inside. I created the floral design on the envelope with SaCrafters stencil and Fire Brick Distress Ink. I LOVE this deep red! I also drew faux stitches and dots with liquid pearl.

I made a pocket for this one too! The tag is from the collection. I fussy cut the word "Le Jardin" and added glossy accents for extra dimension.

The last panel, I just cut out this strip of pictures, and made an accordion fold so every image can be seen. I framed each image with diamond stickles for added glitters!

For the tab where you pull to flip a panel, I used card stock and layered this pretty stripe patterned paper on top. It can be a roomy journaling spot for this mini album! I also used a chipboard button and seam binding to create a pull for the tab.

I want to add the name of this paper collection to the back cover so I fussy cut "French Country","No.45", the rooster and the button. I carefully adhered these cutouts to the background paper with PVA glue. Now...my waterfall mini album is done!

I hope you like this project! Let me know what you think & Thank you so much for visiting my blog.

Graphic 45 "Le Romantique" Altered Vanity Mirror

Hello everyone! Today I'm really excited to share with you my latest altered project. I found an inexpensive plastic vanity mirror on stand. The color was bad! It was golden and shiny; I hated it! But, I do love the ornate details. I think it looks so vintage and shabby chic so I grabbed it. I decided to alter the mirror using graphic 45 "Le Romantique" and "A Ladies' Diary" papers. I actually wanted to use only the Le Romantique but I didn't have enough variety of that collection so I used some of A Ladies' Diary paper for the background. No surprise these two collections go great together!

My finished project turned out like this, and I really love it!

First thing, I took the mirrors on both sides out so I was left with a bare frame and a stand. I painted them with a couple of coats of gesso to cover the old paint. Now my mirror looked much better! Still, I wanted it to look a little shabbier; so, I rubbed some black metallic rub-on paste on the ornate designs to get a vintage shabby chic look.

I used an oval mirror that I took out as a template; traced it on thin chipboard and patterned paper (twice); cut each shape out and adhered patterned paper on the chipboard. Then, I hot glued the pieces to the frame to get (front and back) backgrounds to work on. Before I went any further, I fuzzy cut out desired images from Le Romantique collection so they would be ready to use!

On this side, I framed the background with flat-back pearl trim; used clear rock candy crackle paint and white acrylic paint to create some texture. I wanted it to appear mirror-like or glass-like just to accentuate the 'girl holding/looking in the mirror' image. I love how it came out! I embellished this area with a resin butterfly from Melissa Frances and a teeny-tiny glass jar filled with silvery pinkish seed beads.

I added the fuzzy cut image of the beautiful roses and leaves, and a couple of punched out butterflies. I glittered them up with diamond stickles! I just can't do without stickles...lol.

I filled my empty space with flower sprays. The charms are actually hung on the opposite side. I hot glued acrylic flowers on the back of them so they would look pretty on the back too!

Now on this side, I really love the image! It looks like the girl is daydreaming. I created paper ruffles and hot glued the strip on the bottom edge; then, added black teardrop pearl trim on top of the ruffles. The button was painted with gold paint dabber and I rubbed some white paint on it.

I dyed my flower and seam binding with tattered angels glimmer mist, and added this gorgeous earring to the center. I love its dangling heart-shaped crystal!

I adhered gauze fabric and added texture paste and diamond stickles to the background. I fuzzy cut out the word "Le Romantique", brushed clear rock candy crackle paint and sprinkled glitters on it. Then, added acrylic crystals on the top.

I made faux twig from painted wire so I can hang chains and charms on it. I also embellished with punched out butterflies that I again put stickles on.

I really love this altered project! Let me know what you think!

"A Sweet Dreamer" Shabby Chic Napkin Fold Card

Hi everyone! Today I have a fun and pretty card to share with you. I made it to go with the shabby chic tag I showed you in my previous post. Together they look like this.

The card is a napkin fold card. (I followed a tutorial on Dawn5377's youtube channel.) For this kind of card, you need to make a belly band to keep the card closed. I decorated the band but not on the card so the embellishments won't get in the way when you slip the band in and out.

If you like, you can punch top and bottom edges of the paper strip so you will have a pretty paper band. Here,I also used washi tape to dress up the entire strip of paper.

On the front, I die cut white card stock using "Floral Ovals" Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies. I glimmer misted both pieces to give it some colors and sparkly shine; layered them on top of each other and added the lovely vintage child image to the center. Then, I embellished around the image with platinum stickles, pearl trim and flowers.

Also, I handmade this flower from the same fabric I used on my tag and used a sweet blue button for the center. I dyed my seam binding with glimmer mist spray and wrinkled it with my heat tool.

Inside, I kept it pretty simple. I just alternated two different patterns of paper so I get a patchwork look. I embossed the pale blue pieces and white washed the edges with white acrylic paint.

I cut out eyelet flowers and a swirl using Magnolia Doohickeys Dies and punched different sizes of hydrangeas using Martha Stewart punches to decorate the inside of my card. The tag can be taken out and slip back in.

This is the second time I made a napkin fold card. I really like this kind of fun and interactive card. I will definitely make more in the near future. I hope you guys try it! Let me know what you think about my card. And THANK YOU for stopping by ^__^

"A Sweet Blue Dreamer" Shabby Chic Altered Tag

Hi everyone! I have another shabby chic project to share with you today. It's an altered tag that I finished last night. The tag is 7 1/4" x 3 1/2" (or about 18.5cm x 9cm). I used a template to draw a tag on thick white card stock and cut it out. Then, I machine stitched scrap piece of patterned paper on it. I also stitched a paper doily and some dainty laces to the bottom to make a pretty skirt for my tag.

For this project, I chose to work with white and pale pastel blue colors. Really LOVE how it turned out!

My scrap paper was actually too small for the tag, so I added this gorgeous washi (masking) tape on the top part to cover up the card stock. There are different brands of washi tapes. And in case you're wondering, this beautiful set is from Colte. It's from the Antique Marche collection.

I printed this lovely vintage girl image out and distressed the edges of the photo with Tim Holtz little paper distresser; hot glued the blue ruffled lace trim to the back of the photo so it shows on the side like this. Then, layered it on a piece of patterned paper that I dressed an edge with a doily punch. I also scrunched up and glimmer misted the paper to give it some texture and shine.

,

Then, I just hand sew running stitches on cute blue polka dot fabric to create an easy yet pretty flower; added a big glittery turquoise button for the center. I frayed the edge of the fabric to make it shabbier and sew the flower on the paper. I love this look!

I also added another fabric flower and a teeny-tiny crochet flower on my tag. I used simple buttons for their centers.

Lovely flower sprays and heart pearl trim always look beautiful! I love to use them when I want to fill up some space.

I dyed seam binding pale blue with glimmer mist spray; scrunched it up, and used a heat tool to dry it so it wrinkled and crinkled!

I think this tag will go to a friend of mine. I want to make other things to go with it as well! Hope you like my tag and let me know what you think.
